My Personal Activism

What & how I have done, and what has been achieved?

Before I became a Solicitor, as a Police Officer, I had attended many protest marches, meeting and speaking with many people about their lives and what they were protesting about. But even before that, growing up in an Irish household, I listened to and took part in many a debate about politics. When I became a Solicitor, I began to realise the power of the law, activism and campaigning and how it could help to contribute to real change in peoples lives; here are just a few examples of what I have been involved in over many years, some of which continues to this day:

  • Advocacy & Stakeholder engagements via the EU on the development of the new Package Travel Directive
  • Advocacy & Stakeholder engagements via the EU on Air Passenger Rights
  • Advocacy & Stakeholder engagements via the EU on Ships Safety
  • Active in advocacy & stakeholder commitment at UK, EU, Australia & USA level, on Cabin Air Quality
  • Support and Advocacy on Carbon Monoxide both in domestic and holiday scenarios
  • Support & Advocacy on the general issue of toxins both domestically and within Travel
  • Support and Advocacy on Risk Destinations
  • Support and Advocacy on Crimes in Holidays
  • Activism, support and activism in the Republic of Ireland on Magdalene issues

Campaigning Friends

Who are my Campaigning friends?

Since 2004, I have been privileged to meet a number of great Campaigners and Activists; here are some of the people who have or are making a real difference to the world around us:

  • Brenda Wall (Deceased) Founder & 1st MD of HolidayTravelWatch
  • Stephanie Trotter (Co-Gas Safety) is probably one of the most courageous and fearless campaigners Frank has met. Her success on securing safety on school adventure trips has been marked further by her extensive campaigning on Carbon Monoxide. Her knowledge of the fuel lobby and corporate behaviour is second to none and she tirelessly offers her thoughts and views to politicians throughout Europe and the UK and provides vital support to Victims. You can read more of Stephanie’s work through her website
  • Dr Susan Michaelis is the world's foremost expert on contaminants that can be found in the air that you breathe on your flight. You can discover more about Susan's work through her website
  • Kye Gbangbola & Nicole Lawler, the parents of Zane Gbangbola. Following the death of their son and the serious injury suffered by Kye, this couple have campaigned tirelessly for Justice; justice for their son, toxins arising from landfills and the courts processes. You can view their work through their website
  • Tristan Lorraine is a medically retired airline pilot who actively campaigns on the issue of Cabin Air Quality and toxins within the aircraft environment. He is also a film and documentary maker; a remarkable activist. You can see his work through his website
  • Dr Claire McGettrick is a truly impressive activist, seeking the truth about the Magdalene Laundries and Adoption practices in the Republic of Ireland. Her depth of knowledge and courage is to be admired. You can view her work through the Justice for Magdalenes website
